Lauren completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the Mercy Hospital for Women and Albury Wodonga Health. Following this, she undertook fellowship training through the prestigious Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society in complex gynaecological surgery, as well as a Master of Reproductive Medicine through the University of New South Wales.
She now holds public appointments with the advanced endosurgery units at the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women, along with a regional placement in Albury Wodonga. She also has ongoing involvement in research at the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women, with research interests including endometriosis and outpatient hysteroscopy.
Lauren was initially drawn to fertility when her patients were having difficulty falling pregnant due to endometriosis and fibroids, and she wanted to continue to help them throughout their reproductive lives. She embodies a caring and empathetic manner when dealing with her patients and sees challenges as opportunities. She always strives for the best possible outcomes for her patients and loves that every consultation and surgery is different.
Joining the team at Newlife was an easy decision for her, as “Everyone genuinely likes and supports each other and prioritises excellence at every single step in the process.”
She’s also an accomplished sewer and her penchant for crafting custom-made theatre caps for her colleagues has not gone unnoticed. Hopefully, the teams at both Newlife IVF and Epworth Eastern Ekera will have the pleasure of trying on some of Lauren’s stylish surgical hat designs.
